The Announcements
(NOTE: Important Reminders, Summer Job Opportunities,
and Other Awesome Things!)
***IMPORTANT REMINDERS***
- Housing Lottery Reminder!!!
The Housing Office is beginning the process of preparation for the
2009-2010 Housing Lottery. As a member of the President's Leadership
Program, you are guaranteed housing on campus. You are also afforded
earlier lottery times in order to facilitate obtaining housing. This is
a privilege that other students do not have. You may not however receive
your first choice in housing. It is my expectation that you follow
through with all necessary paperwork and deadlines. As such, please
respond to this message by doing the following:
1. Review 2009-2010 Housing Lottery Guidelines on the Housing website at
http://housing.cnu.edu/.
2 . Email housing@cnu.edu
3 . Provide your full name and student ID number
4 . Indicate if you are YES going to participate in the Lottery (or)
5 . Indicate if you are NOT going to participate in the Lottery.
6 . Complete this process by 5:00PM, Friday, Feb. 25th
Please take care of this as soon as possible in order to assist the
Housing Office in their preparations. Failure to complete this process
will result in not being able to participate in the early lottery
process and potential disciplinary action with the PLP.
- There is a mandatory speaker on Wednesday, February 25th!!!
***SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITIES***
- Leadership Adventure Intern and Facilitator Applications!!!
Intern applications are DUE THIS FRIDAY 2/13

intern application will be accepted as a facilitator application if you

- Commonwealth Leadership Institute Facilitation Opportunity!!! (see below)
President Trible has asked that we find top President's Leadership
Program students to serve as facilitators for the 3rd Annual
Commonwealth Leadership Institute at CNU this July 5-16. The Institute
is for rising high school seniors from Virginia who are nominated by
their principals to participate. Facilitators will earn $500.00 for
staying on campus and guiding the students throughout the Institute.
This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a developing, state
wide initiative. Interested PLP students may apply online at
cli.cnu.edu/facilitators.htm. Applications are due by 5:00 PM on
Friday, February 13th.
Please direct questions to Jennifer Green, Administrative Coordinator,
at jennifer.green@cnu.edu or 594-8907. More information about the
Institute is available at cli.cnu.edu.

The Encouragement
THE WEATHER. Everyone seems takes a moment when the first twinges of
change remind us that spring is approaching. It’s a strange feeling of
having memories of things yet to come. You can almost taste the freedom
and the promise of a new day and warm weather and time to play, relax,
enjoy, etc. Maybe it’s because of what summer used to be. Maybe it’s
because nature truly renews itself…regardless of the mystery behind why
those twinges seem to capture our attention…we should press into them.
Take a moment, dwell in the promise of spring, the memories of old, and
the ones yet to come…the opportunity to take a breath outside what can
seem like the mundane details of life.
AKA: Enjoy the weather…AKA: HAVE FUN!
