Variety Show: Talent Wanted!
Do you have a talent that you would like to share with the world? Sign up for the PLP Variety Show on November 14! Sing, dance, tell a joke, share your talent!!
If you want to participate, email Allie Nash at alexandra.nash.07@cnu.edu with the following information:

- Name
- Type of Act(song, comedy, dance, etc.)
- Length of Act (must not exceed five minutes)
- Materials required (stools, microphones, mic stands, etc.)

COSTUME BASH REMINDER!!!

Figure out your best (and appropriate) costume, OR be a part of a group costume with some PLP friends, and enter in the costume contest to be judged by PLP STAFF (dun dun duuun!).

Internship Opportunity!

Good afternoon,

The Student Affairs staff at Christopher Newport University is accepting applications for their Higher Education Mentor Program (HEMP). This program is designed to create meaningful experiences and relationships for students considering a career in higher education.
Applicants are considered for placement in an internship experience that matches their interests and advances their knowledge of the field of higher education. They are also assigned a mentor to guide them and assist them in the process of selecting and applying to graduate school.
Past participants have been placed in internships in President's Leadership Program, Greek Life and Orientation. Mentors have included Ms. Trici Fredrick, Mr. Chris Fox and Ms. Leah Eickhoff.

URGENT SERVICE OPPORTUNITY!! PLAYGROUND BUILD!

Attention PLP!!! BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB PLAYGROUND BUILD!


The Boys and Girls Club needs urgent volunteer help to assist with their PlayGround Build next Thursday, October 16th. They need as many volunteers as they can get! So grab your friends, PLP and non-PLP, and come help build this playground!!!


The Details

Time: 8am - 2pm (It would be great if you could stay all day, but if not, its okay! Come when you can!)

Location: Boys and Girls Peninsula Club off of Warwick, between Denbigh and Ft. Eustis
Address: 429 Thorncliff Dr., Newport News, VA 23608 (allow 20-30 min to get there)

Transportation: Must provide your own or find a ride. For those interested we will be meeting early that morning to caravan over together to ensure no one gets lost. More information to follow.

Attire: Jeans or sweatpants, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt. Stuff you won't mind getting dirty...and be prepared for cooler (OR hotter) fall weather!

Further Details: Boys and Girls Club will provide you with breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt!

Fundraiser!

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is holding a fundraiser at Moe's Southwest Grill at the CNU Village on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM.

All you have to do is come eat and 15% of profit will go to our sorority in order to fund service projects for the CNU community as well as Newport News!

Also it's "Moe's Monday" so you can get the $5.55 deal on a Burrito,chips, and a drink! Hope to see you there!!!
