October 30, 7:00 p.m., Music & Theater Hall C.L. Lindsay is a nationally recognized expert and leader in the field of student rights and academic freedom. He is the author of The College Student's Guide to the Law: Get a Grade Changed, Keep Your Stuff Private, Throw a Police-Free Party, and More! Published in August 2005 by Taylor Trade Publishing, He will present to the campus community on campus computing and the law. His presentation will cover topics such as; how Facebook/Myspace pages can come back to haunt a student, plagiarism, and intellectual property online.
Wednesday November 5th: University of Richmond Speaker: we will leave campus by 5:15 and return around 9:30pm. Transportation is provided, but limited. It is entitled " Abraham Lincoln and the shaping of public opinion" You must sign up for this trip in Matthew Creasy's Office IN PERSON. Space is limited, so hurry up to his office and sign up for this fun trip!

What to do if you miss a speaker
If you miss a Speaker:
for class: you must email Preslead@cnu.edu and contain the following information:
I, _______, missed/will miss the speaker on ________(date of speaker) because I am in _______(Name of class ex. HIST 395) with ___________(professor's name) at _______(time class meets)
for an athletic event:
I, __________, missed/will miss the speker on ________(date of speaker) because I am playing in a university atheltic event for ___________(name of sport) with _________(coach's name).
If you have an excused reason for missing a speaker you must attend another speker and write a short paragraph or paper on that speaker.
The only excused reasons for missing a speaker are class and if you are playing on a university varsity athletic team.
All other reasons are unexcused.
If you have an unexcused reason for missing a speaker you must attend another speaker and write a minimum one page paper on that speaker.
ALL Make-up speaker papers should be turned in to Kristen Kang.
The PLP provides a list of possible alternate speakers you may attend, however we are not responsible for finding a make-up speaker for you.

The Back to School Bash is today! Rain or Shine! We'll be there with food and great times! So come on out anytime from 4-7!!!

Professional Attire Reminder!!!!!
Men: Suit- ie, dress shirt, tie, dress slacks, belt, dress socks and shoes (NO tennis type shoes), and jacket
Women: Suit or professional equivalent- ie, dress shirt (not a tank top or low cut shirt) dress pants (not casual khaki's), dress shoes (NO flip flops, even "dressy" ones) or a professional dress (not a cute dress, sundress, "go out to eat" dress)
Think about how you would present yourself at an interview for a job you really want (in a professional setting).
If you are not dressed appropriately, you will be asked to return to your room to change, so if it is questionable, choose something else!!! :+)
